Purpose

The Friends of the Philadelphia City Institute Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia is a volunteer-run non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and provide fuller utilization of all physical and cultural facilities of the Philadelphia City Institute Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia.

• Promote knowledge of the resources, services, needs and values of the library.

• Secure the support of the community in augmenting services not provided for in the City Budget.

• Stimulate gifts of books, magazines, collections, endowments and bequests.

• Provide more cultural activities for our community.

• Develop better citizenship through better reading.
